P&C Commercial Sales Producer, West Coast based - California OR Washington State OR Oregon

Vice President – P&C Insurance Sales – California based

Welling Young, LLC is working with a rapidly growing full-service independent insurance agency catering to franchised auto, truck, and RV dealerships. They are a full-service agency, providing P&C, F&I, and Employee Benefits products and services. They’re seeking sales professionals to sell and service P&C products to dealerships across the country marketplace (Preferably in CA, MN, TN, KY, NC, SC, OH, MI).

This role will strategically partner with an established F&I producer in the same territory. You will cross sell and account round with this individual to increase opportunities. Our client offers a strong three-year guaranteed salary while validating, excellent, aggressive splits, $1200/month car allowance, and an excellent benefits package.

The management team is excellent with over 100 years of industry experience. They provide the best in-class training for their internal staff as well as their clients.

Primary Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Acquire new dealer distributors to meet or exceed the Company business plan
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to strategize the most optimum program and structure for each dealer
  • While prospecting and proposing, gather “Market Intelligence” of competitors and share with EVP, Sales Operations
  • Devote your exclusive attention and time during working hours to the business of the Company and perform the duties and responsibilities necessary to produce Net Commissions and Fees on behalf of the Company
  • Create and maintain lead list from various sources
  • Prospect and secure opportunities to provide insurance services
  • Collect, review, and provide accurate and thorough submission information to account managers for marketing
  • Assist in soliciting, preparation and review of insurance proposals, policies, and renewal information
  • Operate as the point person to resolve customer issues (claims, billing etc.)
  • Comply with all state licensing and continuing education requirements necessary to perform your duties

Qualifications:

  • 5-10+ years of automotive industry experience selling to dealerships. Preferably in the P&C marketplace 
  • Strong connections in the area of focus for the position

In addition to your annual base salary, you will be eligible for a performance-based incentive and the opportunity to participate in the Employee benefits plan.

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to strategize the most optimum program and structure for each dealer
  • In conjunction with each new dealer, develop a game plan to maximize F&I income
  • Assure each game plan is executed properly by delivering the training and developmental work required
  • While prospecting and proposing, gather “Market Intelligence” of competitors and share with EVP, Sales Operations

Qualifications:

  • 5-10+ years of automotive industry experience selling to dealerships. Preferably in the F&I Department if on the retail side
  • The ideal candidate would possess knowledge of reinsurance products
  • Experience and/or ability to train dealership staff on F&I products
  • Strong connections in the area of focus for the position

Summer Internship - Commercial Insurance

Responsibilities:

UNDERWRITER ROTATION

– Manage Submission mailbox to create IMS files, request additional information, assign tasks.

– Follow-up with agents for additional information via phone call or email as appropriate.

– Communicate with Mentor 2 times per week to discuss Basic Insurance UW Topic.

– Scan Certified Mail receipts for Conditional Renewals/Non-Renewals and attach to UW File in IMS.

– Process independent non-money endorsements on a daily basis.

CLAIMS ROTATION

– Field calls & e-mails from insureds, claimants, agents and any other parties.

– Gather and enter notice of loss information and assign claims to the appropriate adjuster.

– Prepare and send claims correspondence & match mail to claim files.

– Communicate and collaborate with adjusters to provide claims support.

SALES ROTATION

– Assist Associate Broker Team with servicing active and expired Accounts.

– Issue endorsements, binders and policies.

– Communicate and collaborate with Associate Brokers to identify other projects where skills, experience and knowledge can be utilized

Qualifications:

  • Completed Freshman and Sophomore requirements by start of internship
  • Prefer Risk Management Majors
