Employee Benefits Account Manager

This is a client-facing position and with competencies and advanced knowledge of benefits insurance services, HR administrative functions and plan design. Emphasis on proactive client service and main liaison between the client and carrier/vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Onboard new clients by working with incumbent carriers for takeover information, add account to agency management system and other resources, ensure carrier appointment/licensing paperwork is in place.
  • Communicate and coordinate renewal decisions with current and new carriers, ensure paperwork is completed accurately and timely, lead implementation process with carrier and client.
  • Prepare open enrollment materials, lead open enrollment meetings (in person and virtual), coordinate materials and resources with carriers and account.
  • Respond to account inquiries appropriately and professionally via multiple channels of communication such as phone, email and occasional in-person meetings.
  • Maintain client files including the clear documentation of account detail in agency management system, ensure appropriate and necessary documents are saved, such as polices, attachments, emails, and correspondence.
  • Assist in the small group RFP process, spreadsheet and compare carrier proposals, and provide summary of programs and options that are designed to support clients in making decisions about insurance programs.
  • Remain current on vendor/carrier plans and programs, industry trends and legislation.
  • Consistently follow client service workflows and appropriately engage internal resources and escalate as necessary
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships by collaborating with coworkers and insurance carriers.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of medical, dental, vision and ancillary benefits is required
  • Microsoft Office suite experience required (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • 2 – 4 years in a similar role or Human Resources benefits role; Prior broker experience preferred, experience with self-funded plans is a plus
  • Familiar with HRIS systems, EDI process with carriers is a plus
  • Ideal candidate will be detail oriented and organized, have a sense of urgency, be a problem solver, servant leader, and good communicator; team player with ability to build rapport, confidence, and trust externally and internally

Commercial Auto Underwriter


Commercial Auto Underwriter – Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Scottsdale or Dallas

Are you the right candidate for this role?  Striker Insurance Services is growing and seeking Commercial Auto Underwriters to join our team in any of the following cities:  Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Scottsdale or Dallas. As an Underwriter  you will effectively underwrite and manage a book of Commercial Auto and accounts for a leader in Commercial Auto insurance.

Primary Duties

  • Provide underwriting proposals and rate recommendations in a timely manner
  • Utilize company underwriting models and prior experience to evaluate risk
  • Carefully evaluate loss control, financial and other underwriting data to determine if a risk is acceptable
  • Provide rate recommendations that are competitive and ensure long-term profitability for the company
  • Ensure accuracy of policy documents and assist in drafting manuscript endorsements for assigned accounts
  • Support recommendations with industry data, thoroughly document underwriting files, calculate collateral requirements and lead account review meetings
  • Maintain positive relationships with internal departments and external customers
  • Assist the internal sales force with marketing and networking efforts through customer and agency visits, seminars, conferences, etc.
  • Monitor a book of accounts to ensure profitability and make recommendations regarding any action needed
  • Conduct industry and competitor research to identify new opportunities and provide direction on business to target
  • Mentor Associate Underwriters and provide interdepartmental and external training
  • Review and approve Associate Underwriter quote recommendations for accuracy, completeness of analysis and compliance with pricing guidelines
  • Assist in identifying improvements to the company’s underwriting processes that will lead to profitability and growth

Skills/Requirements

Required:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of commercial auto underwriting experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with effective time management skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel and Word

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in insurance, finance, business, mathematics, or related field
  • 5+ years of commercial auto underwriting experience for an insurance company or MGA
  • Progression toward certifications i.e. AU, CPCU, CIC, INS or ARM.
  • Prior mentoring or supervisory experience

Position Overview:

Mobility Claims Group, LLC, a Risk Point company, is an industry claims services leader, providing custom tailored Third-Party Administration (TPA) programs to clients. Our Dallas based, national program is fast paced and growing.  Under moderate supervision, this position typically handles 1st party Damages to Auto Dealer’s Inventory as well as other first party auto damage claims, from the first notice of loss through resolution/settlement and payment process. Provides quality claim handling throughout the claim life cycle while maintaining compliance with internal and external quality standards and state specific regulations.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Directly handle assigned claims.
  • Provide quality customer service and ensure file quality, timely coverage analysis and communication with insured based on application of policy information to facts or allegations of each case.
  • Consult with Manager on use of Claim Coverage Counsel as needed.
  • Directly investigate each claim through prompt contact with appropriate parties such as policyholders, accounts, law enforcement agencies, witnesses, agents, and technical experts to determine the extent of damages, and contribution potential.
  • Interview witnesses, and take necessary statements, as appropriate.
  • Oversee outside investigation as needed per case specifics.
  • Actively engage in the identification, selection and direction of appropriate resources for specific activities required to effectively evaluate claims, such as subrogation, risk management, and fire or fraud investigators, and other experts.
  • Verify the nature and extent of property damage by obtaining and reviewing appropriate records and damages documentation.
  • Maintain claim files and document claim file activities in accordance with established
  • Utilize evaluation documentation tools in accordance with department guidelines.
  • Utilize diary management system to ensure that all claims are handled timely.
  • At required time intervals, evaluate damage exposure.
  • Establish and maintain proper indemnity & expense reserves.
  • Share experience and knowledge of creative resolution techniques to improve the claim results of others.
  • Apply established file management protocols and metrics to all claims, document the rationale for any departure from applicable protocols and metrics
  • Develop and employ creative resolution strategies.
  • Responsible for prompt and proper disposition of all claims within delegated authority.
  • Negotiate disposition of claims with insureds or their legal representatives.
  • Recognize and implement alternate means of resolution.
  • Track and control legal expenses to assure cost-effective resolution.
  • Effectively and efficiently manage loss adjustment expenses.
  • Update appropriate parties as needed, providing new facts as they become available, and their impact upon the claim settlement options.
  • Appropriately deal with information that is considered personal and confidential.
  • Represent the company as a technical resource, act within established professional guidelines as well as applicable state laws.
  • Actively provide mentoring and coaching to less experienced claim professionals to increase the technical expertise and improve bench strength.
  • Share accountability with business partners to achieve and sustain quality results.
  • Evaluate all claims for recovery potential; directly handle recovery efforts and/or engage and direct resources for recovery efforts.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5 plus years of Auto Physical Damage claims experience

Underwriting Assistant

We are looking for an organized, diligent, and decisive person who will represent the program professionally in our Dallas, TX office. The candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have the potential and desire to grow with us.

Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming submissions through our clearance process
  • Communicate with producers to gather additional information as needed
  • Work files up for Underwriting
  • Data Entry
  • Assist Underwriters with production of quotes as directed
  • Produce binders, policies, cancellations, renewals, changes, and endorsements as directed
  • Provide support duties as assigned by Underwriting
  • Assure accurate filing of documents as directed

Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an underwriting assistant or customer service representative in the insurance industry. Will consider recent college graduates with 3+ years of CSR experience.
  • Commercial insurance experience is preferred.

Are you the right candidate for this role?  We are searching for someone who will be responsible for the investigation, valuation, establishment of reserves, and settlement of first party property claims within a predetermined settlement authority. Ensures that all assigned claims are concluded promptly and accurately within the provisions of the policy contract and in accordance with the damages presented.

Essential Functions

  • Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate claims to reach a fair settlement
  • Negotiate settlement of claims with insured while following claim best practices and within authorized settlement authority
  • Handle questions on coverage with a reservation of rights letter and/or non-waiver agreement.
  • Maintain a complete and thoroughly detailed claim file ensuring files are accurately detailed and all supporting documents are memorialized
  • Uses proactive communication and persuasive negotiation to ensure a positive customer experience
  • Treat customers in a courteous and professional manner providing timely, thorough, accurate information and assistance
  • Work closely with the field appraisers to ensure accurate and timely damage evaluations.
  • Adjust reserves to accurately reflect the exposure and issue payments timely to the appropriate parties
  • Identify subrogation and/or salvage situations in a timely manner to protect the interests of the Corporation and request documents needed to process salvage
  • Handles all claims within the guidelines of the state’s Fair Claims Practices Acts and other regulations while ensuring timeliness and KPIs are being met
  • Maintain an up-to-date diary
  • Maintain vital licensing and continuing education

Competencies and Qualifications
